My rainbow socks are finished! YES! They didn't take long at all - whether it was the simple pattern or the love of the yarn, I'm not sure. I cranked these out in no time. The yarn is from Knit Picks. It is incredibly soft on my feet! I didn't want to take them off, but since it is 90 almost every day that was all the incentive I needed.
I HAD to name them 'Double Rainbow.' We were watching Jimmy Fallon the other night when Martha Stewart was a guest. They were talking about stupid YouTube videos when he mentioned 'Double Rainbow.' What a STUPID video! (If you haven't seen it, it's three and a half minutes of some guy freaking out over a double rainbow. I'm not even going to post a link to it because it's that stupid!) Anyway, after the socks were finished, I couldn't look at them without thinking about that video! So, the name stuck. Of course the kids helped a little when we found a song someone had mixed using the guys comments and they kept singing it.

These songs also remind me of socks I wore in Jr. High. My best friend, Karen, and I wore some pretty funky socks back then. If these were knee socks and had individual toes they would be SOOOO late 70's!
I found this picture in my e-mail box this morning. Frankly, I would have rather found this quilt in my mailbox this morning, but you can't have everything. Total bummer. My sister made this. Yeah, yeah, yeah - she quilts on top of all the other talented things she does. Disgusting, I know. The pattern is one my grandmother used. I love it!

the socks are so fun!
that quilt is glorious! there is something so historic and simple about it ... and i mean that in a really, really good way. reminds me of simpler times.
Love the new socks -- and you're right about the toes and knee socks -- I'm sure I must've had some in the 70's LOL. Your sister's quilt is beautiful!
Nice socks - they remind me of a song...
